Another entry from the Laundry Room of Awesome...

What in the world?!, you may ask.

No, really, you may...

Go ahead.... Ask.

Well, since you asked... that, my friends, is (a good chunk of) a chapter from Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows. Chapter 33. Need I say more?

Okay. I need to say more.

I am a geek.... almost of uber geek status. You know those cute little family decals that people put on their minivan... Mine are daleks. Two big ones, 4 little ones and 2 K-9s. Don't know what that means? It's just as well...
I also have a decal on my car that says 9 3/4.

See. Geek.

SO! When I saw this idea on pinterest, I had to have it. And I knew immediately which chapter I would use.
The Prince's Tale, of course.
Snape. Such a tragic hero.

*sigh*

My fail was that I grossly underestimated just how long that chapter was, and how much wall space I had. And how much my neck would kill me. And how I thought I could surely fit it all in above the shelf. And how writing with sharpie on a wall that has been textured takes twice as long.

Hm.

So I had planned on stopping at the part where Snape says, "Always." But I couldn't even fit in that much. The last line I wrote was, "...and even with his poorly cut hair and his odd clothes, he struck an oddly impressive figure sprawled in front of her, brimful of confidence in his destiny..."

*sniff*

I loves him.

Here's a quickie!!

I loved this idea... and it goes well in the Laundry Room of Awesome that I am creating...

Useful to cover a few of the myriad dings and scratches on my bazillion years old  Kenmore.

:)

Win!

Blessings Bag

Despite my horrible skills in photography (including the fact that I took this in the car...), this should probably be considered a win just by virtue of what it is...

Put together a bag of things like travel size deodorant, soap, toothbrush/paste, bottled water and some nutritional snacks like energy bars, raisins, fruit leather, etc to keep in your car, in case you come across someone who is homeless. My personal fail was that I put some chocolate cookies in there... not conducive to leaving the bag in your car. :-/  I also added $2 to mine. Not a lot, but enough to make a phone call, take the bus, or buy some food.

And no, I haven't found anyone to give it to yet.... :(

Tex-Mex Linguini

Alas, we should probably call this one a win.

You will need a breath mint.

Tex-Mex Linguini.

Major complaint: I food-processed this way more than it called for, hoping to get rid of some of the grittiness of the sauce, and to make it smoother. It was still a bit gritty. But if you can get past the texture, the taste was nummy.

Mini German Pancakes....

WHY do they FALL???

Ok. I used the recipe to a T.

I have come to the conclusion that the reason so many of the recipes on Pinterest look so yummy... is just because they look so yummy. I'm thinking photography has a lot to do with it. I make German Pancakes a lot in our house, using my trusty old Better Home and Gardens cookbook, and they taste great.

These were bland and didn't set well, or something.

Blueberries were the best part.

Regrow your green onions... or not.

This was one of those 'A-ha!!! What a great idea!' moments when I first saw this on pinterest. I really wanted this to work! The picture above shows the green onion... uh... nubs... after they had been in the water for about a week and a half. The original blogpost said that she had to change the water "periodically". I had to change mine every other day, or it became VERY cloudy and kind of slimy. You can see, in the picture, that the roots are starting to grow and the green tips are poking out a little bit.
However, this water is almost gelatinous. And I just changed it yesterday. And the smell.... if you don't mind your kitchen smelling like an onion that is slightly off, then by all means try this! Also.... I love Texas. Especially Texas fruit flies. There's one floating on the top right end of the onion that is second from the left. Yeah. I dumped this.

If moneysavingmommy, or whoever it is, wants to have a stinky, gelatinous, fruit fly filled jar in her kitchen in an effort to save .68 then she can.

I'll pass.

BTW... I hope you all had a great holiday! My 2 year old daughter broke my camera, and I dropped my phone and lost a lot of the Christmas projects I had done. *sigh*.... so I have some catching up to do! :)
